Royal Air Maroc's oneworld membership opened its US–Morocco nonstops to Avios — an instant Chase transfer — and the kasbah route between Ouarzazate and the Dades remains gloriously under-trafficked in shoulder season. This is the last era of empty hairpins on the Tichka.

Earthen kasbah guesthouse — sleep by lamplight inside the old ksar itself at Kasbah Tebi, or across the river with a pool at Riad Caravane.

Kasbah-lodge in the palmery — the garden rooms and home cooking of L'Ma Lodge, or the full theatrical splurge at Dar Ahlam, a Relais & Châteaux kasbah with no menus and no clocks.

Transfer Chase UR to British Airways Avios for Royal Air Maroc's JFK–Casablanca oneworld nonstop — roughly 26,000 Avios each way in economy or ~62,500 in business, with unusually low surcharges, plus a cheap RAM hop to Marrakech. The riads are cash-only independents, so the one real hotel play is the bookend: transfer Chase UR to World of Hyatt for the Park Hyatt Marrakech (~15,000–21,000 points/night) on the return night; Amex MR also feeds Avios if a transfer bonus appears.

Straight talk

The Tizi n'Tichka can close for hours after the season's first snow (late Oct–Nov), and lingering widening works still mean flagmen and convoy waits — leave Marrakech by 8 am and never plan to cross after dark.
The best small houses — El Fenn, Dar Ahlam, Dar Al Hossoun — sell out 4–6 months ahead for October–November; lock the riads before you ticket flights.
Aït Ben Haddou fills with Marrakech day-trip buses from about 10 am to 4 pm — the overnight exists precisely so you have the ksar at dawn and dusk, so don't let a late Tichka start steal the golden hour.
Cash rules between Ouarzazate and Taroudant: kasbah stays, saffron co-ops, and roadside lunches are dirham-only and ATMs are scarce on the N10 — draw cash in Ouarzazate, and note Essaouira's trade wind blows hard even in autumn (bring a layer; this is a walking-and-eating coast, not a lounging one).

With a small one (●○○ brave parents only): Moroccans will adore your toddler at every riad, but the Tichka and Taliouine legs are long mountain drives — start early, break at kasbah lunches, and skip the gorges if naps rule your day.
